Have you heard of tree seed collection programs in Wisconsin and Minnesota? Are you curious to hear what it takes to become a tree seed collector and help reforestation efforts across the Midwest? Did you know that by becoming a tree seed collector, you can generate additional income?
If you want to learn more, join us for a free webinar on the basics of tree seed collection for Wisconsin and Minnesota landowners! We’ll review why tree seed collection is important for reforestation efforts and disease resistance programs in the Midwest; discuss how to collect northern red oak acorns and red pine cones; and highlight training opportunities and selling seed to local DNR sources.
The session will begin with a presentation by Richard Nesslar (WI DNR Reforestation Program), who will discuss the Wisconsin tree seed collection program and how to collect red pine cones. Then we’ll have a presentation by Kira Pollack (UMN Extension) who will discuss the Minnesota tree seed collection program and her training opportunities for tree seed collection.
Come prepared with questions—we’ll end the session with a live Q&A!
This session is specifically designed for Wisconsin and Minnesota landowners, but foresters and others interested in the topic are welcome to attend, too.
